About Us
The law firm of Brannon, Brown, Haley & Bullock, P.A. was established in
September 1938 by Clarence E. Brown and W. Brantley Brannon. Currently,
the firm employs five attorneys together with a full support staff and occupies
a three-story building on U.S. Highway 90 in Lake City, Florida near Bank of
America.
For more than 50 years the firm has enjoyed the highest rating possible (AV) by Martindale-Hubbell which annually rates all lawyers and law firms in the United States.
The firm has represented major institutional clients in the tri-county area as well as small businesses and individuals throughout the State of Florida.
Present and former attorneys in the firm have served as Circuit Judge, County Judge, Public Defender, City Attorney, County Attorney and President of the National Association of County Civil Attorneys. One present and three former members of the firm have represented the Third Judicial Circuit on the Board of Governors of the Florida Bar for 16 years in the aggregate, and two have served on the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors. Former members of the firm are the co-authors of the section dealing with "Acreage" and the section dealing with "Timberlands" published by the Florida Bar for use by all lawyers practicing in Florida. Another present member of the firm co-authored a section of the Florida Bar Continuing Legal Education book dealing with "Real Estate Brokers" and a section in "Handling Professional Licensee and Enforcement Cases" and authored a chapter on "Contracts" in another Florida Bar publication. Present and former members of the firm have served as chairman of many major committees of the Florida Bar including Civil Procedure, Workers' Compensation, Judicial Administration, Evidence, Disciplinary Procedures, and Florida Association of Realtors and Florida Bar Joint Committee.
The firm is a major supporter of United Way, the local Chamber of Commerce and various other community improvement-oriented groups and organizations. We encourage and support participation in our community and within the profession of law by our attorneys and staff. Members of the firm have served one or more terms as President of the Chamber of Commerce, been named Outstanding Citizen in Columbia County by the Lake City Rotary Club, named Business Person of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce, served as Trustee of the Attorneys' Title Insurance Fund for more than ten years and served as Chairman of the Board, served on the Florida Board of Bar Examiners, and another member of the firm is active in scouting in North Florida and has served as President of the North Florida Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
